20" PP Fibre Cartridge 25 µm NSF Aquapro PR-PPS-20-25

Aquapro 20" cartridge, wound PP fibre 25 micron, NSF

The PR-PPS-20-25 is a filter cartridge in wound polypropylene fibre, 20" format. Rated at 25 micron, it retains rust, sand, silt and suspended particles.

25 micron: the right compromise

25 micron is the all-round rating for pre-filtration. Finer than 50 µm, which only stops the coarse material, it already catches most of what clouds the water. More forgiving than 10 or 5 µm, it does not clog at the first turbidity peak.

It is the default choice for main filtration on reasonable mains water, and the right second stage behind a 50 µm cartridge on well or rainwater supplies.

Why the 20" format

20" doubles the filtration area of a standard 10" cartridge. At the same flow rate, velocity through the media is halved: pressure drop stays low, the cartridge holds more dirt, and the interval between replacements lengthens considerably. This is the format for the point of entry of a house or commercial site.

Applications

Point-of-entry filtration, pre-filtration ahead of a softener, RO system or UV lamp, protection of sanitary fittings and appliances, well, borehole or rainwater supplies.

Media and maintenance

The NSF certified PP media is neutral in contact with drinking water: no taste, no odour, no leaching. Replace the cartridge as soon as pressure drop increases or flow at the outlets falls.

Requires a 20" filter housing. Aquapro reference PR-PPS-20-25.
