Description
This set of 2 brass fittings is used to install a water meter with a body threaded 1" 1/2. One fitting is mounted on the inlet, the other on the outlet. They provide the connection between the meter and the pipework, and the meter remains removable for replacement, calibration or maintenance.
Threads
- Union nut: female thread 1" 1/2 (40/49), meter side
- Socket: male tapered thread R 1" 1/4 (33/42), network side
The R thread is a tapered thread (BSPT): sealing is achieved on the thread, using an appropriate sealant (PTFE tape, hemp and paste, or resin).
Installation
The sockets are screwed onto the pipework or isolation valves. The union nuts then tighten the meter, with a flat washer between each union nut and the meter body. Respect the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the meter. Provide sufficient straight length upstream and downstream to ensure measurement accuracy.
Use
These fittings are used for installing meters on the water inlet of an installation, on the supply to a water softener or volumetric regeneration filter, or on a metering circuit. Brass ensures good mechanical strength and long service life in cold water.
Compatibility
These fittings are suitable for meters with a body threaded 1" 1/2. The DIMM team will help you verify compatibility with your meter.
