Wound PP fibre cartridge 5 micron for Aquapro AP-680

The PR-PPS-680 is the sediment pre-filter cartridge of the Aquapro AP-680 reverse osmosis system. Made of spun and wound polypropylene fibre, it retains rust, sand, dust and suspended particles carried in the feed water.

What the first stage does

This cartridge takes the whole load. It protects the following stages, activated carbon and above all the RO membrane, from sediment. A membrane is an expensive consumable: replacing one because a 5 µm cartridge was not changed in time is the most common maintenance mistake on an RO system.

Wound fibre, 5 micron

Winding creates a medium with graded porosity: coarse particles are stopped at the surface, finer ones penetrate into the depth. The cartridge therefore holds more dirt than a surface medium, with pressure drop rising gradually rather than abruptly.

Compatibility

Fitted as standard on the Aquapro AP-680, and compatible with certain purifiers and Culligan appliances of the same format. Check your filter body dimensions if in doubt.

Specifications and maintenance

Wound polypropylene media, 5 micron rating, 7 bar working pressure. Replace the cartridge roughly every 6 months, or sooner if production flow drops, the first symptom of a clogged pre-filter.
