Water softener Clack Legend Arca 8 L

The Arca is the most compact format in the range: a single-unit housing where resin tank and salt brine tank fit within one envelope, supplied without cover with white brine tank. With 8 L of resin on an 8 x 17 bottle, it installs at the point of use or in a small space where a standard-size unit cannot fit. It reduces water hardness, which is responsible for scale buildup in hot water cylinders, pipework and appliances. Clack Legend electronic valve with volumetric regeneration.

Operation

Hard water passes through the resin bed, which captures calcium and magnesium and exchanges them for sodium: water exits softened. When the resin is saturated, the valve initiates brine regeneration, followed by rinsing, before returning to service. Triggering is volumetric, indexed to the volume of water actually consumed. On a small resin volume, this is critical: timed regeneration would cycle the unit unnecessarily or leave it saturated between cycles.

The Arca range

The Arca covers small volumes, from 4 to 14 L depending on valves. It is the answer to space constraints: studio, flat, rental property, cramped plant room, or protection of a single appliance such as a boiler or commercial dishwasher. Supply without cover further reduces overall height, useful under a worktop.

The Clack Legend valve

Electronic control, volumetric cycle management and accessible settings to adjust wash and rinse to water quality. Proportional mixing sets residual hardness at outlet rather than delivering zero °fH water. Dual safety protects against brine tank overflow.

Installation and maintenance

Installation on the main water inlet, after the meter, or protecting an isolated appliance. The bypass allows isolation of the unit for maintenance without cutting off water. Commissioning by setting inlet hardness and regeneration parameters. Routine maintenance limited to filling the brine tank and periodic inspection. On this format, salt reserve is low: plan for more frequent replenishment than on an 18 or 25 L unit.

With 12 L of resin on an 8 x 24 bottle, it covers a flat or small household while maintaining a reduced footprint. It reduces water hardness, which is responsible for scale buildup in hot water cylinders, pipework and appliances. Clack Legend electronic valve with volumetric regeneration.

Choosing between 8 L and 12 L

Both share the same valve and the same installation logic. The 8 L targets point of use and very small spaces. The 12 L handles more regular consumption: it spaces out regenerations, which preserves the resin and reduces salt consumption per unit volume of water treated. Choice is made on hardness in °fH and number of occupants, not on number of taps.
