White polyethylene tubing 1/4", NSF, per metre

Flexible polyethylene tube, food-grade quality, NSF certified, outer diameter 1/4" or 6.35 mm. Supplied cut to the ordered length.

Applications: supply and interconnection of reverse osmosis units, connections between filtration stages, concentrate rejection, line to point-of-use tap, in-line cartridges.

NSF certification

The tube bears NSF certification, which attests to the conformity of materials in contact with drinking water. This is the requirement specified in technical specifications for professional installations, catering and public facilities.

On a drinking water line, this is what distinguishes a certified tube from a generic tube.

White: visual cleanliness and circuit identification

White is the standard colour for treated water lines. Two benefits on installation:

• clean appearance in visible mounting, under sink or in plant room, where a black tube shows wear less clearly
• circuit identification when coexisting with blue, black or transparent: one colour per function, instantly recognisable

White is opaque or translucent depending on the exact shade of the batch. On portions exposed to light, a tube that blocks light passage limits algae growth.

Diameter 1/4"

1/4" is the standard bore for domestic reverse osmosis units and under-sink filtration. 3/8" covers high-flow lines, long distances and professional installations.

Imperial 1/4" and metric 6 mm are not interchangeable: the diameter difference prevents the O-ring from seating correctly.

Quick couplings

Compatible with John Guest, DMfit and compatible push-fit couplings in 1/4". Straight cut, insert to the stop, the retaining clip locks and the O-ring ensures sealing. No adhesive or PTFE tape on the tube connection.

Cutting and installation

• Cut with a tube cutter, straight cut, without crushing or angled cut. An irregular cut prevents the O-ring from seating around the full circumference.
• Insert to the stop, beyond the retaining clip.
• Check locking by gently pulling on the tube.
• Leave a wide bend radius at the outlet of couplings.
• Do not clamp the tube immediately behind a connection.

Sold per metre, cut to the ordered length. Measure the actual run and allow for margin.
