Sizing
The choice of Austin model (10 L to 30 L) depends on water hardness, the number of occupants and the consumption profile.
Contact the DIMM technical department for personalised sizing based on your water analysis. Correct sizing ensures optimal regeneration frequency and maximum resin lifespan.
Installation
- Position the water softener near the main water inlet, on a flat and stable surface, protected from frost
- Connect the water inlet and outlet via the integrated bypass, using mandatory flexible hoses
- Connect the drain hose to a regulation siphon (mandatory)
- Connect the power supply (transformer provided — 12V AC output)
- Fill the salt tank with tablet salt
- Programme the unit: operating mode, resin capacity and cycle times
- Run an initial regeneration cycle
- Adjust the mixing valve to the desired residual hardness
Regulatory requirement — A non-return valve must be installed upstream of the water softener, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Routine maintenance
- Salt level — check regularly and top up with tablet salt
- Salt tank cleaning — once a year to remove deposits
- Resin cleaner — an annual treatment extends the exchange capacity
- Hardness check — test residual hardness regularly with a TH test kit
