The Fleck 8100 Austin is a compact all-in-one model (resin and salt tank integrated) designed for apartments and individual homes. It removes hardness (limescale) responsible for scaling in water heaters, pipework and appliances, delivering softer water that is gentler on skin, hair and laundry, and more economical in energy and cleaning products. It combines food-grade ion exchange resin with an electronic Fleck 8100 valve with volumetric control.

How it works

Hard water passes through the resin bed which captures calcium and magnesium and exchanges them for sodium: water emerges softened. When the resin is saturated, the valve automatically triggers regeneration with brine (water + salt), controlled by volume to consume only the salt and water strictly necessary.

Installation & maintenance

The unit is installed on the main water inlet, after the meter, with a bypass allowing isolation for maintenance. Commissioning consists of setting the inlet hardness and regeneration time; maintenance is limited to salt top-ups and periodic checks. DIMM ensures spare parts availability and technical support throughout the installation's lifespan.

Choosing the right capacity

The correct resin volume depends on your water hardness (°TH) and the number of people in the household. An undersized model regenerates too often; a properly sized model spaces out regenerations and optimises salt consumption.
