Why meter water

Principle

This single-jet water meter measures potable or lightly loaded water consumption, with a pulse output for remote reading, BMS or sub-metering. Compact and reliable, it suits domestic and industrial applications in small diameters (DN15-DN20).

How it works

Single-jet metering directs water onto a turbine; the dry dial with magnetic drive protects the mechanism and prevents magnetic fraud. The ratio reaches R=80 horizontally. The pulse output (adjustable among 12 values, up to 2 identical or different pulses) integrates metering into a remote-reading system.

The pulse output

The pulse output turns a water volume into electrical signals: each pulse corresponds to a preset volume (pulse value, adjustable among several values). Connected to a logger, PLC or BMS, it enables remote reading, leak alarms, allocation and volume-proportional control. Depending on the model, two outputs (identical or different) and flow direction are available.

Installation & maintenance

Installation is on a full pipe, in the arrow direction, preferably horizontal to preserve accuracy (maximum ratio). Follow the recommended upstream/downstream straight lengths and fit a strainer upstream to protect the mechanism. Isolation valves ease removal. Maintenance is minimal: periodic checks and replacement at metrological end of life.
