Male connector 3/8" tube × 3/8" NPTF
Straight fitting combining a 3/8" push-fit tube connector with a 3/8" NPTF male thread. It takes a tubing line to a threaded appliance or component with no tooling: the tube pushes fully into the collet and locks itself.
The NPTF thread
NPTF is an American tapered thread of the Dryseal type: sealing comes from the thread flanks deforming against each other, with no gasket. In practice, a wrap of PTFE tape is still advisable on a water installation.
Watch compatibility: NPTF is not interchangeable with a BSP thread of the same nominal size. Thread angle and pitch differ, forcing the assembly damages both parts and leaks. Check the appliance thread before ordering.
Applications
Connection of membranes, tanks, valves, pumps and solenoid valves on RO systems, water coolers and beverage dispensers, dosing lines and water treatment circuits.
Fitting
Cut the tube square with a proper tube cutter, then push it fully into the fitting up to the stop. Tighten the thread hand-tight plus a quarter to half turn with a spanner, without forcing. Pressurise and check for leaks before closing up.
