Replacement cartridge MK-808 / MK-810

Opaque replacement cartridge for the Aquapro MK-808 and MK-810 shower filters. Reference PR-MK-808C.

This is the consumable part of the unit: head and body stay fitted on the shower line, only the cartridge is replaced.

Compatible with two models

The same cartridge fits both the MK-808 and the MK-810. For an installer or reseller that means a single reference to stock covering both units in the field, less capital tied up, less risk of picking the wrong part.

Why filter shower water

The point often overlooked: in a shower, water is not only in contact with the skin, it is also hot and atomised.

Heat and atomisation promote the release of chlorine present in mains water. That is what explains the characteristic chlorine smell in a closed bathroom, stronger than in a glass of tap water at the same concentration.

The shower filter targets exactly that: it reduces free chlorine before it reaches the shower head, which directly improves comfort in use and removes the smell.

The opaque body

The cartridge is opaque, and that is not cosmetic.

A shower is a warm and damp environment, often lit. Opacity blocks light and therefore rules out photosynthesis, no algae growth inside the cartridge, including during periods when the shower is unused.

An opaque body also hides the spent media, which discolours in service, an appearance detail that matters on equipment installed in a bathroom.

Replacement

Replacement is judged on two signals: a weakening flow, and above all the return of the chlorine smell in the shower. The latter is the most reliable, it is precisely the nuisance the filter was removing.

Do not stretch beyond that: saturated media stops treating, and the unit keeps running with nothing to flag it.

Fitting

Shut off the water and let the line depressurise. Unscrew the body, remove the used cartridge, fit the new one following the flow direction, and close it up.

Check the condition of the seal on reassembly, that is the usual leak point on this type of unit.

After repressurising, run for one to two minutes to drain before use, to clear air and fines from the new media.
