Overview

Bottle filter filled with GaroFiltre catalytic media, on Clack valve (ref. CLACK-WS1CI-GARO-30). 10X54 bottle. WS1 valve. This filtration station provides iron and manganese removal at the point of entry to protect the entire installation. Supplied ready to install (filled bottle + valve + distribution), it treats mains water, well water or borehole water.

Filtration principle

GaroFiltre media is an iron and manganese removal catalyst: it accelerates the oxidation of dissolved iron and manganese, whose insoluble oxides are retained in the bed and removed during backwash. It treats well and borehole water laden with iron, without chemical reagent provided the water is sufficiently oxygenated.

GaroFiltre media

The bottle is filled with GaroFiltre catalytic media on a gravel/flint support bed that distributes water and retains fines. Media volume: 28.6 L. Depending on the media, the bed is backwashed (charcoal/Ecomix) or recharged as it is consumed (calcite/Corosex/Everzit), to maintain performance over time.

Valve & operation

The WS1 valve automatically controls cycles: service (filtration), backwash, rinse and return to service (and salt regeneration for Ecomix). Triggering is time-based or volume-based depending on the model; an integrated bypass isolates the filter without cutting off water.

Sizing & installation

Choose the size (10X54 bottle) according to peak flow rate and water quality. Provide a drain outlet for backwash and electrical supply for the valve. Install in a frost-free location on level ground; an upstream sediment pre-filter is recommended to protect the media.

Economy & ecology

Treating water at the point of entry protects the entire installation: less corrosion (pH correction), more pleasant water (charcoal) and preserved equipment, therefore fewer replacements and maintenance. Backwash uses only water (and salt for Ecomix), without polluting additives: effective treatment that respects the resource.

To choose correctly, have your water analysed (pH, TAC, chlorine, iron) and estimate the peak flow rate. Media is chosen according to water analysis: charcoal for taste and chlorine, calcite/Corosex to raise aggressive pH, Ecomix for multi-problem well water. Plan for backwash (sufficient flow rate and drainage) and, for pH correction media, periodic level monitoring and recharging as they are consumed. An upstream sediment pre-filter protects the media and spaces out backwashes, whilst regular water analysis allows you to adjust the valve setting.
