Overview

Filter on bottle filled with Aquacarb 207C granular activated carbon, on Clack valve (ref. CLACK-WS1CI-AQUACARB-150). Bottle 21X62. Valve WS1. This filtration station provides dechlorination and improvement of taste and odour, at point of entry to protect the entire installation. Supplied ready to install (filled bottle + valve + distribution), it treats mains water, well water or borehole water.

Filtration principle

Granular activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, disinfection by-products, volatile organic compounds and molecules responsible for poor tastes and odours. In a filter bed on bottle, it treats significant flow rates whilst clarifying water. The media is periodically backwashed to unclog the bed and extend its service life before replacement.

Aquacarb 207C media

The bottle is filled with Aquacarb 207C granular activated carbon on a gravel/flint support bed that distributes water and retains fines. Media volume: 150 L. Depending on the media, the bed is backwashed (carbon/Ecomix) or recharged when consumed (calcite/Corosex/Everzit), to maintain performance over time.

Valve & operation

The WS1 valve automatically controls cycles: service (filtration), backwash, rinse and return to service (and salt regeneration for Ecomix). Triggering is time-based or volume-based depending on model; an integrated bypass isolates the filter without cutting off water.

Sizing & installation

Choose the size (bottle 21X62) according to peak flow rate and water quality. Provide a drain connection for backwash and electrical supply for the valve. Install in a frost-free location on level ground; a sediment pre-filter upstream is recommended to protect the media.

Economy & ecology

Treating water at point of entry protects the entire installation: less corrosion (pH correction), more pleasant water (carbon) and preserved equipment, therefore fewer replacements and maintenance. Backwashing uses only water (and salt for Ecomix), with no polluting additives: effective treatment that respects the resource.

Media is chosen according to water analysis: carbon for taste and chlorine, calcite/Corosex to raise aggressive pH, Ecomix for multi-problem well water. Plan for backwashing (sufficient flow rate and drainage) and, for pH correction media, periodic monitoring and recharging of the level as they are consumed. A sediment pre-filter upstream protects the media and spaces out backwashes, whilst regular water analysis allows adjustment of valve settings.
