Overview

This pH-correction medium (ref. MED-EVERZIT-CARBONATE, sac de 25 kg) neutralises the acidity of aggressive water by slowly releasing minerals (calcium/magnesium carbonate). Installed in a filter bottle at point of entry, it raises the pH, reduces water aggressiveness and protects plumbing, cylinders and exchangers from corrosion, while remineralising the water.

Role & action

This medium provides pH correction (remineralisation) of aggressive, acidic water. Its performance depends on the loaded volume, the service flow and the quality of the water to be treated. It fits into a filter bottle equipped with a valve (manual or automatic) or into a suitable media holder, sized to your installation’s flow.

Commissioning & maintenance

Load the medium into the bottle (with a support layer if needed), backwash before first commissioning to remove fines, then put into service. Depending on the medium type, periodic backwash declogs the bed and restores the pressure drop; adsorbing media (carbon) and finite-capacity media (arsenic) are replaced when saturated.

Supplied as sac de 25 kg. Store dry, protected from frost and contamination sources. Handle with suitable protective equipment (dust). Sized to the useful volume of the filter bottle.

A well-chosen, properly backwashed medium lasts several years and treats large volumes of water at low cost. Media regenerated by simple backwash (sand, glass, iron removal) limit consumables and waste; recycled filter glass and coconut carbons fit a sustainable approach. Less scaling, corrosion and clogging downstream also means a more reliable, economical installation.

Good to know

Always check the medium’s compatibility with your water analysis (pH, iron, hardness, flow). Rinse the medium before commissioning to remove fines. Provide a support layer (sand/gravel) under fine media and respect the expansion rate during backwash. Carbons and adsorbing media must be replaced once saturated, they do not regenerate by simple backwash.
