Brass reducing nipple 1" × 3/4", male to male

The RED DM nipple is a brass reducing fitting with male threads at both ends: 1" on one side, 3/4" on the other. It connects two components of different diameters directly and avoids stacking several intermediate parts, a classic source of leaks and clutter in a plant room.

Why brass

Brass remains the reference material in sanitary plumbing for connection parts subject to tightening. It takes the tightening torque without deforming where a plastic part creeps or cracks, holds pressure and temperature over time, and keeps a usable thread after repeated dismantling, a genuine criterion on installations that are serviced regularly.

Where to use it

Connecting a softener, filter or valve whose ports do not match the pipe diameter. Manifold take-offs, bypass outlets, filter housing inlets, expansion vessel or pressure gauge mounting. Any configuration where a 1" to 3/4" step-down has to stay compact.

Fitting

The central hex flat allows clean tightening with a spanner without damaging the threads. Seal with PTFE tape or hemp and do not over-tighten: excessive torque weakens the smaller thread. Avoid direct brass-to-galvanised-steel contact in wet conditions, a source of galvanic corrosion. Pressure-test the joint before closing up the installation.
