Adriatica water softener 14 L, valve 8100 electronic volumetric

Monobloc water softener: the resin tank and salt container are integrated into a single unit. It reduces the hardness of the supply water and thus limits scale formation in the hot water tank, pipework and connected appliances.

14 L of resin, bottle 10 x 18, valve 8100 electronic volumetric. Blue cover, white tank.

Supplied with stainless steel bypass, mixing valve and double safety.

Reference FL-8100-ADRIATICA-14-BLEU.

Operation

Hard water passes through the ion exchange resin bed, which captures calcium and magnesium and releases sodium in exchange. The water emerges softened.

When the resin is saturated, the valve initiates brine regeneration: backwash, brine draw, rinse and return of water to the salt tank. The resin regains its exchange capacity.

The 8100 electronic valve

Control is electronic, with backlit LCD display and three buttons. Six cycle times are adjustable, allowing fine-tuning of the regeneration sequence.

Compared to a mechanical valve, electronic control provides:

  • Status display: remaining volume, cycle in progress, parameters
  • Fine adjustments: duration of each regeneration phase, adjustable on a case-by-case basis
  • Faster commissioning, by direct parameter entry

Body in PPO reinforced with glass fibre, non-corrosive and UV-resistant materials. Modular design for maintenance.

Volumetric, not time-based

Regeneration is triggered by the volume of water actually consumed, not at fixed time intervals.

Salt and rinse water consumption therefore follows household usage. A prolonged absence does not trigger unnecessary regeneration, high consumption triggers it when needed.

14 L: the intermediate size

14 L of resin sits between the 10 L, intended for small dwellings, and the 22 L, which covers a medium to large household.

Since exchange capacity is proportional to resin volume, a 14 L regenerates more frequently than a 22 L at equal consumption and hardness, but takes up less space.

Two parameters determine the choice: the hardness of the inlet water in °fH and the number of people. An undersized unit regenerates too often, consumes more salt and wears the resin faster. Measuring the inlet TH before confirming the volume is the only way to size correctly.

Stainless steel bypass

The bypass allows the unit to be isolated without cutting off the water supply to the building: essential for commissioning, component replacement or prolonged absence.

The stainless steel version resists better over time than plastic bypasses, particularly with repeated operation and in damp technical rooms.

Mixing valve

Proportional blending allows adjustment of the outlet water hardness by reintroducing a portion of unsoftened water.

Completely softened water is not the objective on a distribution network. Mixing allows targeting a residual hardness and controlling it by TH test.

Double safety

The unit is equipped with double safety, which limits the risk of salt tank overflow.

Specifications

  • Resin volume: 14 L
  • Bottle: 10 x 18
  • Valve: 8100, electronic volumetric
  • Connection: 3/4"
  • Operating pressure: 1.5 to 6 bar
  • Colour: blue cover, white tank
  • Equipment supplied: stainless steel bypass, mixing valve, double safety

Installation

The unit is installed on the main water inlet, after the meter, with the supplied bypass.

To be provided:

  • a drain for regeneration discharge, with air break mandatory: never direct and sealed connection to sewer
  • an electrical outlet nearby
  • a salt tank overflow connected
  • access to the cover for salt filling

At commissioning, set the measured inlet hardness, then check the outlet hardness obtained after mixing adjustment. Recheck after the first complete regeneration.

Maintenance

Maintain the salt level in the tank, in pellet form. Periodically check for salt bridge, a crust that forms above the water level and prevents brine formation: the unit then runs without softening.

Periodic resin cleaner extends exchange capacity, particularly on iron-rich water.
