Blue polyethylene tubing 1/4", per metre

Flexible polyethylene tube, outer diameter 1/4" or 6.35 mm. Supplied cut to length as ordered.

Applications: reverse osmosis unit feed and interconnection, links between filtration stages, concentrate rejection, line to point-of-use tap, in-line cartridges.

Blue: identifying circuits

On a reverse osmosis unit, several 1/4" lines occupy a confined space: feed, reject, product, tank, tap. All identical to the touch.

Coloured tube allows assigning a colour to a function and reading the installation at a glance. Blue for feed, black for reject, transparent for product: the convention is free, but must be consistent from one site to another.

The benefit is measured in after-sales service: a technician taking over an installation they did not install identifies circuits without tracing them by hand or opening a valve.

Blue, black, opaque, transparent

• Blue: circuit identification, and partial opacity depending on shade
• Black: opaque, blocks light, discreet in visible installation
• Opaque: blocks light, no colour code
• Transparent: visual monitoring of flow, but exposed to light

On line sections exposed to light, an opaque tube limits algae growth.

Diameter 1/4"

1/4" is the standard bore for domestic reverse osmosis units and under-sink filtration. 3/8" covers high-flow lines, long distances and professional installations.

Imperial 1/4" and metric 6 mm are not interchangeable: the diameter difference prevents the O-ring from seating correctly.

Push-fit connectors

Compatible with John Guest, DMfit and compatible instant-connection fittings in 1/4". Straight cut, insert to the stop, the retaining clip locks and the O-ring ensures sealing. No adhesive or PTFE tape on the tube connection.

Cutting and assembly

• Cut with a tube cutter, straight cut, without crushing or angled cut. An irregular cut prevents the O-ring from seating around the full circumference.
• Insert to the stop, beyond the retaining clip.
• Check locking by pulling gently on the tube.
• Leave a wide bend radius at the connector outlet.
• Do not clamp the tube immediately behind a connection.
