White PE Tubing 1/4" Per Metre | RO & Filtration

White polyethylene tubing 1/4", sold by the metre

Connection tubing in polyethylene, 1/4" (6.35 mm) outside diameter, in white. It pushes straight into standard 1/4" push-fit fittings (John Guest type and equivalents), with no glue and no special tooling.

The reference diameter

1/4" is the most widespread diameter on reverse osmosis and point-of-use filtration installations. It is the size of an RO system's internal lines, membrane inlet, permeate outlet, drain line, run to the tank, and of appliance connections: water coolers, coffee machines, American-style fridges, dosing lines.

It is also the tubing to always keep in stock: the one missing mid-job costs more time than all the others combined.

The white colour

A neutral shade, discreet on a visible installation, and one that shows up internal fouling, useful for visual checks.

White is translucent, so keep it to runs not exposed to light. For a lit or outdoor run, choose black tubing, which blocks light and prevents algae growth inside the tube.

Sold by the metre

Sale by the metre suits repairs, short runs and site top-ups, without opening a full roll. For installations in series, the roll remains more economical per metre.

Installation

Cut the tubing square with a proper tube cutter for a clean section, a skewed cut, or one crushed with pliers, is the first cause of leaks on a push-fit fitting. Push it fully into the fitting up to the stop, then pull gently to confirm it has locked.

Avoid tight bend radii close to fittings and keep the tubing away from heat sources.
