Overview

This rotomoulded brine tank of 920 L is a salt reservoir for ion-exchange water softeners. It stores the regeneration salt (tablets) and the water needed to prepare brine. Designed for commercial and industrial use, it provides a comfortable salt reserve between refills and suits both new installations and the replacement of an existing tank. The lid limits evaporation and dust ingress and secures the storage.

Role in softening

A softener removes limescale by binding calcium and magnesium ions onto a resin. Once the resin is saturated it must be regenerated: water drawn from the tank dissolves the salt and forms a concentrated brine, sent into the resin vessel to restore its exchange capacity. The quality and volume of the brine tank therefore govern the regularity of regeneration, the autonomy of the system and, ultimately, the consistency of the treated-water hardness.

The body is high-density polyethylene (HDPE), valued for its impact, UV and salt-corrosion resistance. Rotational moulding yields a thick, homogeneous, seamless wall suited to large volumes.
