Overview

Bottle filter filled with KDF 55 redox media (copper-zinc), on Clack valve (ref. CLACK-WS1CI-KDF55-50). Bottle 10X35. Valve WS1. This filtration station reduces chlorine, heavy metals and scale at the point of entry to protect the entire installation. Supplied ready to install (filled bottle + valve + distribution), it treats mains water, well water or borehole water.

Filtration principle

KDF 55 media is a high-purity copper and zinc alloy that acts by oxidation-reduction (redox). It effectively reduces free chlorine, dissolves and retains certain heavy metals (lead, mercury) and inhibits the development of bacteria, algae and scale. Often combined with activated carbon, it extends the service life of downstream media and improves taste.

KDF55 media

The bottle is filled with KDF 55 redox media (copper-zinc) on a gravel/flint support bed that distributes water and retains fines. Media volume: 50 kg. Depending on the media, the bed is backwashed (carbon/Ecomix) or recharged when consumed (calcite/Corosex/Everzit), to maintain performance over time.

Valve & operation

The WS1 valve automatically controls cycles: service (filtration), backwash, rinse and return to service (and salt regeneration for Ecomix). Triggering is time-based or volume-based depending on the model; an integrated bypass isolates the filter without cutting off water.

Sizing & installation

Choose the size (bottle 10X35) according to peak flow rate and water quality. Provide a drain connection for backwash and electrical supply for the valve. Install in a frost-free location on level ground; an upstream sediment pre-filter is recommended to protect the media.

Economy & ecology

Treating water at the point of entry protects the entire installation: less corrosion (pH correction), more pleasant water (carbon) and preserved equipment, therefore fewer replacements and maintenance. Backwashing uses only water (and salt for Ecomix), with no polluting additives: effective treatment that respects the resource.

To choose correctly, have your water analysed (pH, TAC, chlorine, iron) and estimate the peak flow rate. Media is chosen according to water analysis: carbon for taste and chlorine, calcite/Corosex to raise aggressive pH, Ecomix for multi-problem well water. Plan for backwashing (sufficient flow rate and drainage) and, for pH correction media, periodic monitoring and recharging of the level as they are consumed. An upstream sediment pre-filter protects the media and spaces out backwashes, while regular water analysis allows you to adjust the valve setting.
