Medium Turbidex, filtration de la turbidité, ref. MED-TURBIDEX

Overview

Turbidex (ref. MED-TURBIDEX, sac de 25 kg) is a light mineral filtration medium, very effective against turbidity and fine particles: at equal flow it retains finer particles than sand, with lower pressure drop and reduced backwash water use. Ideal to clarify turbid water at point of entry.

Role & action

This medium provides fine filtration of turbidity and particles. Its performance depends on the loaded volume, the service flow and the quality of the water to be treated. It fits into a filter bottle equipped with a valve (manual or automatic) or into a suitable media holder, sized to your installation’s flow.

Commissioning & maintenance

Load the medium into the bottle (with a support layer if needed), backwash before first commissioning to remove fines, then put into service. Depending on the medium type, periodic backwash declogs the bed and restores the pressure drop; adsorbing media (carbon) and finite-capacity media (arsenic) are replaced when saturated.

Packaging

Supplied as sac de 25 kg. Store dry, protected from frost and contamination sources. Handle with suitable protective equipment (dust). Sized to the useful volume of the filter bottle.

Savings & ecology

A well-chosen, properly backwashed medium lasts several years and treats large volumes of water at low cost. Media regenerated by simple backwash (sand, glass, iron removal) limit consumables and waste; recycled filter glass and coconut carbons fit a sustainable approach. Less scaling, corrosion and clogging downstream also means a more reliable, economical installation.

Choosing right

Choose the medium according to the problem to treat (chlorine/taste → carbon; acidic pH → calcite/corosex/everzit; iron/manganese → BIRM/pyrolusite; arsenic → Bayoxide; turbidity → sand/glass) and according to your bottle’s flow and volume. Several media can be layered. The DIMM team helps you size the volume and choose the right valve.

Key specifications

DIMM service & support

DIMM distributes a complete range of filtration and treatment media, activated carbons (coconut, coal, agglomerated, catalytic), pH correctors (calcite, corosex, everzit), iron removal (BIRM, pyrolusite), arsenic removal (Bayoxide), filter sands and glasses, ceramic beads, plus the bottles, valves and mounting accessories. Our teams advise on choice and sizing by your water analysis, supply refills and handle follow-up. Every medium is identified by its article code for reliable ordering and easy re-supply.

Good to know

Always check the medium’s compatibility with your water analysis (pH, iron, hardness, flow). Rinse the medium before commissioning to remove fines. Provide a support layer (sand/gravel) under fine media and respect the expansion rate during backwash. Carbons and adsorbing media must be replaced once saturated, they do not regenerate by simple backwash.

Applications

These media equip domestic and industrial filter bottles, at point of entry as well as point of use: homes, buildings, shops, agriculture, industrial processes. They protect softeners, RO units, water heaters and networks, and improve water quality (taste, clarity, pH, iron, arsenic) depending on the chosen medium.

Warranty & re-supply

Medium distributed by DIMM and identified by its Business Central article code for reliable ordering and easy re-supply. Bottles, valves, support layers and complementary media remain available in the catalogue to build and maintain your treatment chain throughout its service life.
