The Floteck 189 industrial softener is a bi-block model (resin tank and brine tank separate) with a 1″1/4 connection, designed for local authorities, the commercial sector, hospitality, industry and processes (boiler rooms, cooling towers, laundries, food industry). It removes the hardness (calcium and magnesium) that scales up heat exchangers, boilers, pipes and equipment, protecting installations, reducing energy use and securing processes. It combines a quality ion-exchange resin with a Floteck 189 volumetric valve in counter-current, regenerating only according to the water volume actually used.

Bi-block configuration

The resin tank and brine tank are separate, allowing flexible integration in the plant room, sizing of the brine tank to the desired autonomy and easy maintenance. The large-capacity brine tank spaces out resupply, ideal for high consumption.

How it works

Hard water flows through the resin bed, which captures calcium and magnesium and exchanges them for sodium: the water leaves softened. When the programmed volume is reached, the volumetric valve starts a counter-current brine regeneration (water + salt), fully restoring exchange capacity while optimising salt and water use.

Installation & sizing

The unit is fitted on the main water supply, after the meter, with an isolation by-pass for maintenance. Sizing depends on inlet hardness (°f), peak flow and daily volume: our technicians help you select the right model and resin volume, plus options (mixing, brine tank, floor, silex, 6-arm distributor).

High-pressure composite tank (reinforced fibre) corrosion-resistant, proven Floteck volumetric valve, selected ion-exchange resin, counter-current regeneration with softened water for a clean system and reduced maintenance. Components certified NSF 44, ACS, CE, RoHS and WRAS.

Routine maintenance is limited to salt resupply, checking residual hardness and periodic valve inspection. Salt, silex & consumables

The softener runs on regeneration salt (tablets) kept in the brine tank. A silex bed (support gravel) is provided on large tanks for flow distribution. DIMM offers salt, silex, stainless ACS hoses, mixing valves, Cintropur filters, cartridges and maintenance parts in the related products.
