Carbon block cartridge 10" Big Blue, Aquapro PR-APC-1045
Filter cartridge with compressed activated carbon block media, 10" Big Blue format. It treats chlorine, taste, odour and organic compounds in mains water.
Block rather than loose carbon
In a loose carbon (GAC) cartridge, water can find preferential channels between the granules and leave without being properly treated. A carbon block is compressed media: water is forced through the full mass, contact time is controlled and performance stays consistent.
The block also provides mechanical filtration of fine particles, which loose carbon does not.
The Big Blue format
The media volume of the Big Blue format handles the flow of a house or small commercial site without excessive pressure drop and with a considerably longer service life than a standard 10" cartridge.
Where to install it
At the point of entry, after a sediment cartridge that protects it from premature fouling. Also upstream of a UV lamp, whose transmittance it improves by clarifying the water, or on a hospitality circuit for taste quality.
Replacement
Carbon saturates: past breakthrough it releases what it has captured. Replace the cartridge as soon as a chlorine taste returns, if pressure drop rises, or every 6 months at the latest.
Requires a 10" Big Blue filter housing. Aquapro reference PR-APC-1045.
