PP Melt-Blown Cartridge 9"3/4, 50 Micron | Sediment

PP melt-blown cartridge 9"3/4, 50 micron

Pre-filter cartridge in melt-blown polypropylene, standard 9"3/4 (10") format. Rated at 50 micron, it handles the coarse stage of filtration: sand, rust, scale flakes and large particles.

Melt-blown, not wound

Melt-blown media is made from extruded polypropylene fibres blown together and fused, with no binder or additives. The result is a homogeneous, single-piece medium that releases no fibres into the water and holds its structure under pressure.

Its graded density, looser at the surface, denser at the core, distributes dirt through the full thickness instead of blinding the outer face. The cartridge therefore holds more particles than a surface medium, with pressure drop rising gradually.

What 50 micron is for

50 µm is a coarse rating, not a polishing one. It does not clarify the water: it protects the following stages, 25, 10 or 5 µm cartridges, activated carbon, softener, membrane, by absorbing the heavy load that would clog them within days.

This is the first stage to install on well, borehole or rainwater supplies, or on a network carrying a lot of particles.

Applications

First filtration stage at the point of entry, pump protection, pre-filtration ahead of a softener, RO system or UV lamp.

Maintenance

Replace the cartridge as soon as pressure drop increases or flow at the outlets falls. On heavily loaded water the interval can be considerably shorter than the usual 6 months: taking the hit so the others do not is exactly this cartridge's job.

Requires a 9"3/4 / standard 10" filter housing.
