Overview

Adouclean is a maintenance product in granule form for softeners, presented in a single dose. Formulated with citric acid, it is designed for units with 15 to 30 litres of resin. It is used for prevention or cleaning of resin contamination by iron and other metals.

Why clean the resin

Over time, iron and certain metals present in water become fixed on the ion exchange resin. Salt regeneration alone is not sufficient to remove them. The resin then loses its capacity: the softener regenerates more frequently, consumes more salt, and the softened water is of lower quality. Annual maintenance with Adouclean restores the resin's effectiveness.

Preventive treatment

Add the product to the salt tank, at a rate of 1 g per kg of salt. It acts at each regeneration and limits iron fixation on the resin.

Cleaning treatment

1. Pour the product into the salt tank chimney (brine well), at a rate of 1 g per litre of resin in the softener.
2. Allow to dissolve for 10 minutes.
3. Start a manual regeneration.
4. In case of heavy contamination, repeat the complete procedure.

Precautions for use

The product causes serious eye irritation (H319). Wear gloves, protective clothing and eye and face protection. Wash hands and eyes thoroughly after handling. In case of contact with eyes, rinse carefully with water for several minutes, remove contact lenses if possible and continue rinsing. If irritation persists, consult a doctor.
